Top Tips for Adding Volume To Your Hair

Does your hair look a little lacklustre? Do you want to bulk up the volume a little bit? Great! You have landed on the right page. Let us share a couple of tips for boosting the volume of your hair. We are going to assume that your hair is not thin due to a medical condition. If you are unsure, then visit a doctor first before you try out these tips. They may be able to help you. This is important if somebody in your family currently suffers from alopecia as it is a genetic condition.
To start with, you will need to determine whether your hair is dry or oily. This will determine the type of shampoo that you will need for your hair. No matter your hair type, you should be using shampoo in the shower a maximum of three times a week. This is all you need to clean your hair if you have dry hair. However, if your hair is excessively oily, then you may wish to use a dry shampoo on the other days of the week. This will keep your hair looking brilliant without putting it under excessive pressure.

Try to purchase shampoo which says that it can add volume to your hair. Do not opt for a cheap shampoo here. Most of those have been formulated with chemicals which are not too great for your hair health. If you can, try and get a shampoo which claims that it is ‘salt free’. This is going to be better for your scalp. It will also ensure that your hair does not become damaged.
When you are cleaning your hair, you only need to clean the hair a few inches from your scalp with shampoo. There is no sense cleaning anything else as there will be very little oil there. When it comes to conditioning, then you should only place the conditioner midway up your hair. This is where your hair is going to need strengthening. If you follow this tip, then you should be able to deal with the vast majority of volume issues.

When you hop out of the shower, make sure you go easy when you towel dry your hair. Do not rub too hard as your hair will be prone to breakage. However, if you really want to add volume to your hair, you probably should not be towel drying at all.

To get the perfect ‘lift’ to your hair, you should blow dry your hair, on a low heat setting, until it is slightly damp. Then you can get a product which adds volume. Apply this to the root of your hair. This will ensure that your hair looks instantly thick. Try to get something lightweight here as you do not wish to be smothering the roots of your hair. If you are unsure as to the type of product to buy for your hairstyle, you should consult with your salon.
